Shining Hope Farms was founded in 2002 by Paul and Milinda Kirkpatrick in response to the needs in the community to provide therapeutic services in an enriching farm environment. The purpose of the farms’ services is to improve the quality of life of the participants as well as their families. Shining Hope Farms’ programs have been structured to serve individuals and groups with a variety of disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Down syndrome, Developmental Disabilities, Brain Injuries, Hypotonia, and the like. Our clients find wellness, strength, and hope on the back of a horse.
The services provided at both the Mecklenburg and Gaston County farms are the same. We have two farms to expand the reach of services to children in both counties and beyond. We are serving over 150 children and adults weekly at both locations.
Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Shining Hope Farms was created for but not limited to provide services to people with disabilities, that includes horseback riding, family and caregiver support, and social and recreational activities. We serve both children and adults.
