Speedway Children’s Charities Grants $10,000 to Help Hippotherapy Program

Dec 15, 2016 | News

Shining Hope Farms is excited to announce that we have received a Speedway Children’s Charities grant in the amount of $10,000. This is the six year that we have received support, and the second year at the amazing $10,000 level. The grant will provide funds for our Hippotherapy Program, which is a physical, occupational, and speech-language therapy treatment strategy that utilizes equine movement as part of an integrated intervention to achieve functional outcomes.

As the only Hippotherapy Program in the Charlotte Metro Area, the demand for the program only continues to rise. Without substantial grants like this one which help to subsidize the enormous cost of running the program (which is only partially covered by insurance) it would be impossible to keep growing to meet the need.

We feel such an immense level of gratitude to Speedway Children’s Charities for supporting our work and our children year after year. This year they managed to support an astounding 93 charities with $815,000 in grants. They are a wonderful organization and we are so grateful to have a chapter right here in Charlotte taking care of the kids in our community.
