MEDIA ADVISORY – PHOTO OPPORTUNITY

INVITATIONAL HORSE SHOW HOSTED BY SHINING HOPE FARMS

Who: (1)   Shining Hope Farms, a local nonprofit therapeutic horseback riding program that serves children and adults with disabilities throughout the Western Piedmont Region.

(2)   Sponsor Special Olympics North Carolina, accredited by Special Olympics Incorporated, is one of the largest volunteer-driven sports organizations in the state. It is the mission of Special Olympics to provide children and adults who have intellectual disabilities or closely related development disabilities the opportunity to train and compete in Olympic-type sports.

What: Shining Hope Farms is hosting an Invitational Horse Show sponsored by Special Olympics of North Carolina on July 8 with athletes from Gaston, Mecklenburg, Union, Lincoln, and Catawba counties. This event allows participants to show off their talents with family and friends, to compete in various equestrian events, to bond with their teammates and coaches, and to have a good time. It’s something that riders and their families look forward to all year. Photo and/or video opportunities will be available of the show as well as interview with the parent of a participant and a Shining Hope Farms staff member.

Our First Charity Bass Tournament is in the Books

On Saturday, May 20, we hosted our inaugural Charity Bass Tournament on Lake Norman at the Beatty’s Ford Access Area in Denver, NC. Being that the tournament had the biggest one-day payout on Lake Norman in 2023, it was widely attended with over 100 registered boats.
