Craft Fair and Equine Trail Sports Event Happening This Weekend

Sep 25, 2019 | News

This coming weekend, we will once again be hosting the very popular Equine Trail Sports events as well as our first ever craft fair and vendor show at our Conover farm. All proceeds will support our nonprofit’s equine assisted activities and therapies programs.

The Equine Trail Sports portion of the weekend will take place Saturday morning into Sunday. An In-hand Obstacle Course will be first Saturday morning, followed in the evening by a 5-mile Trail Challenge. On Sunday, a 2-mile Obstacle Trail will conclude the weekend’s events. Competitors will get to experience over one hundred acres of trails to enjoy with their horse including farm fields, timber, hills, creeks, and our North Carolina clay. There will be a few areas along the trail where the horses will have to traverse over some gravel and rock. However, horse shoes are not required and the majority of the trail footing will be dirt and grass.

On Saturday, Four Peas in a Pod will be providing lunch, and there will be lunch available on Sunday as well. We’ll also be handing out beautiful ribbons for 1st-6th place Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced! 1st-3rd place Junior (age 13-17), 1st-3rd place Youngin’ (age 7-12), and 1st place Newcomer!

Need to stay overnight? Stall, paddocks, and primitive camping are available for rent.

Tickets and more information are available here. Online registration closes Thursday, September 26 at 7:00 PM.

The craft fair and vendor show will take place Saturday and Sunday 9 AM – 4 PM and feature vendors including Plunder Jewelry, Designs by Byrd, Lularoe, Ridge Creek Natural Horsemanship Tack, Pampered Chef, Young Living, Mary Kay, Snap Dragon Jewelry, Happy Hats, Damsel In Defense, Scentsy, Handmade Birdhouses, Blue Ridge Barkway, LakePointe Tack & Gift, Handmade Pottery, and Crocheted Animals. Boosting Horse Health with Smart Earth Camelina Oil: A Game-Changer for Shining Hope Farms

One year ago, a horse named Red came to us in poor condition. He needed some extra care and attention, especially before becoming a therapy horse, and so our barn manager Cindy started searching on the internet for a good oil supplement to help him. She wanted something to help him gain weight, be shelf stable and offer other types of supplements to help him be the best that he could be. That’s when she found Smart Earth Camelina Oil.
