There is currently an enormous demand nationally and within our own community for occupational therapy, due in part to the rise in autism spectrum diagnoses. We know how critical occupational therapy services can be for children to participate meaningfully in the activities of daily life. Additionally, we have seen over the past 16 years what a difference occupational therapy that incorporates hippotherapy can make in increasing independence and decreasing functional impairments. We have also seen it bring immense joy and provide an hour of refuge to our patients and their families.
It has always been our goal to provide access to our equine assisted therapies without financial obstructions or limitations as we know how crucial and typically inaccessible they can be. Grant funding in part from foundations like The Rosendin Foundation helps to enable Shining Hope Farms the ability to provide families in need the opportunity to affordably access our therapies. We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of The Rosendin Foundation which helps to allow us to offer enriching and high-quality rehabilitative therapy for little or no cost to our patients with disabilities in our community.
