The holiday season is always a time for reflection and gratitude, but this December, our hearts are overflowing. We are thrilled to share that Shining Hope Farms recently participated in Speedway Children’s Charities’ annual Night of Joy celebration, where we were awarded a spectacular $25,000 grant to support our Therapy Services Program!
This year’s celebration was incredibly special. Together with nearly 110 fellow non-profit organizations across North Carolina, we gathered to celebrate a historic milestone for Speedway Children’s Charities: a massive $2.25 million distributed this year alone to help children across our state thrive.
14 Years of Partnership: Supporting the Whole Child
This grant marks our 14th year of receiving support from Speedway Children’s Charities. Over more than a decade, their team has been a rock-solid pillar for our organization, consistently stepping up to ensure that local children with special needs have access to the life-changing care they deserve.
This vital funding directly impacts our Therapy Services Program across our Western Piedmont locations, allowing our team to address a wide range of developmental, physical, and emotional needs. Our specialized services include:
Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapies: Allowing our clinical team to utilize hippotherapy—incorporating the natural, rhythmic movement of therapy horses to help children make critical functional, physical, and cognitive gains.
Mental Health Services: Ensuring children and youth navigating emotional, behavioral, or psychological challenges have access to specialized, nature-based mental health support.
By backing these integrated specialties, Speedway Children’s Charities is helping us care for both the physical bodies and the emotional well-being of the kids who walk—and ride—through our gates.
Making Comprehensive Care Accessible to Every Family
What makes this funding so vital is that it allows us to stick to our core mission: equitable access. High-quality, specialized equine-assisted therapies and mental health services are rare, and they can often be financially out of reach for families.
